Frederick opens the holiday season on Saturday, December 5 from 5:30 to 8 pm by counting down to the tree lighting in Crist Park, with a parade of lights, free horse-drawn carriage rides, a live ice-sculpture demonstration, selfies with Santa and carolers. The Frederick Market of growers, artisans and non-profits sets up in the park for the same hours. It is Frederick’s part of the Carbon Valley Holiday Festival, with Firestone’s and Dacono’s festivals the same day. The Town’s page notes that filming may take place and that drones are not allowed except the Town’s own.
