Carbon Valley Recreation Center
The three towns’ recreation center, run by the Carbon Valley Parks and Recreation District: a lap pool with diving board and climbing wall, an activity pool, a gym, an elevated indoor track and fitness rooms.
· by the published hours
The district that serves Frederick, Firestone and Dacono runs its recreation center on Fifth Street, with a lap pool (diving board, aquatic climbing wall), an activity pool with a play structure and lily pads, a steam room, a full-court gymnasium, an elevated indoor track, cardio and weight rooms and a fitness studio. The pool and outdoor fitness area close half an hour before the building. A Kid Zone runs weekday and Saturday mornings and Monday to Thursday evenings; holiday hours differ (closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, 6 am to 1 pm on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve). A drop-in visit is $5.50 for adults who live in the district and $8 for those who do not, $4 and $6 for ages 5 to 17, free under 5. The district’s Community Center and Gymnastics Center are separate buildings, and its Harvest & Holly Market fills the rec center each November.
