The museum occupies the original Frederick Town Hall, relocated to Crist Park, and has been a Colorado Historic Landmark since 26 January 2012. Members of the Town’s Historic Preservation Committee, who collect and arrange the exhibits, tell the stories of the coal camp that became the town. It opens on the first Friday of the month from 5 to 7 pm, during some Town events (Miners Day, Music in the Park), and on request through the Town Clerk’s office (720-382-5581, townclerk@frederickco.gov; the page’s About section also gives 720-382-5500), which also takes donations of historical items and stories through an online form. The remaining 2026 openings are 6 November and 4 December; 2027 dates were not posted on 2 November.
