The High Plains Library District’s Carbon Valley branch serves Frederick, Firestone and Dacono from 7 Park Avenue in Firestone, open until 8 pm Monday to Thursday, 10 to 5 Friday and Saturday and 1 to 5 on Sunday. The district’s page lists two meeting rooms residents can reserve, four study rooms, a vending cafe and patio, a Spanish-language collection and large print, storytimes for children from birth to six, a Teen Advisory Board, book groups, job-search help and adult computer classes. Its events are on the district’s LibCal calendar, and this guide’s Families pages list the regular programs.
Holiday closures this season, from the district’s page: Veterans Day, November 11; Thanksgiving, November 26 (closes at 5 pm the day before); December 24 and 25; and the library closes at 5 pm on New Year’s Eve.
